Thoughts on the Babolat Aeroblast

I played a couple of hours yesterday with this racquet. It does have awesome power. And it feels nice to swing it, although I had to control my shots to avoid hitting long. Also I think this frame absorbs a lot of shock, it felt a lot better to play even without shock absorbers than my current racquet. Thanks to the racquet I won a set 7-5 against an opponent I usually lose to :)

I think next week I will switch to a Babolat racquet which has more control. If any of you have an advice, please post it as a comment here. Thanks.

Babolat Aero Blast

So my first racquet will be Babolat Aero Blast, Babolat Aero Drive+ is the one that Rafael Nadal uses. This racquet is recommended for intermediate players. Frame is 100 % graphite and weights 270g. I liked the grip, very soft touch. Tried some serves in the evening and it felt good. I usually play Tuesdays and Thursdays and I will post updates then.

Meanwhile Swetkas has some of the cheapest tennis ball cans, $1.99 for Wilson US Open Heavy Duty.

Swetkas Tennis Shop

Bored at home on a Sunday morning, I ventured out to practice some serves. Bumped into this kind gentleman who introduced me to Swetkas Tennis shop. This shop has a unique racquet demo program. You enroll into this for $40 and you can take out one racquet at a time for one week. A the end of four months, if you decide to buy a racquet, they will re-imburse you the money. They have over 700 rackets available for trial.

So now that I am on this program, I plan to test out all the racquets in the market. And each week I will try to document my adventures here. About my skill level, I consider myself between beginner and intermediate, have a reasonable forehand, a weak backhand, and have yet to play at any tournament, although that is the goal for next year.

So happy reading, and meanwhile please post your comments here. And thank you Swetkas for this unique racquet demo program. I think I will love it.
